2025 AISACT Universal Design for Learning with Dr Matt Capp
Date : 26/02/25 - 11/11/2025
This workshop focuses on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), an inclusive pedagogical framework designed to accommodate individual learning differences, ensuring effective learning for all students. Through exploring ACARA’s CASE Model for Personalised Learning teachers will be provided with a practical approach for planning for this diversity. This is achieved by:
- deconstructing the chronological age/year level Content Descriptions.
- identifying universally designed pedagogical strategies to address the strengths and functional impacts of an entire classroom.
- identifying adjustments to address the strengths and functional impacts of students with disability and diverse learning needs.
- deconstructing the chronological age/year level Achievement Standards and targeted Achievement Standards of a different year level,
- applying everything to the Explicit Instruction Model.
Participants will use the knowledge gained from the workshop to enhance their planning and programs for students with diverse learning needs. Additionally, participants will establish a coalition of the willing to create an action research project, which they will implement within their school. This project will be shared at the AISACT Celebrating Teaching and Learning Event, providing an opportunity to showcase excellence and share impactful initiatives within independent schools across the ACT.
