Promoting Self-Regulated Learning Program: 2025 phase

Facilitated by, and co-designed with Dr Shyam Barr, the program continues work from 2023 and 2024. Participants will continue to engage in dynamic discussion with other like-minded professionals, delve into academic research in cognitive psychology and continue their own action research. Alumni and new educators to SRL will be supported via the following:
Tuesday 18 March: half day F2F workshop: Promoting Self-Regulated Learning and Embedding Practice. Participants will unpack the cognitive component of the SRL knowledge framework, including information processing, encoding and retrieval strategies in support of student learning.
- A new online interactive community digital platform providing:
access to the online modules for the duration of 2025 - a shared resources hub to allow school teams to share resources that they are creating and using to promote students’ SRL
- discussion forum #1 where participants can share their SRL implementation successes
- discussion forum #2 where school teams can pose emerging questions or share challenges and seek support from Dr Shyam Barr and the other school teams involved
- 4 x live 60 minute webinars with Dr Shyam Barr and other experts in the field of self-regulated learning, scheduled once per school term, recorded and uploaded to the digital platform
Coaching/mentoring hours (to schools to use during 2025 wherein Dr Shyam Barr will act a a critical friend as part of implementation discussions. Sessions per school will be limited and dates negotiated (tba).
Tuesday 11 November: participation in AISACT Celebrating Teaching & Learning event
TQI accredited = 4 hrs
2023 & 2024 alumni and open enrolment for all educators and leaders.
