Date : 15/05/24
9:00 am - 3:30 pm

It is a challenging time to be an early career educator, graduate teachers routinely work in circumstances that are volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. As the future of our profession, it is important to invest in graduate teacher development from the beginning. Program Amplify is an interactive workshop designed to form part of a comprehensive, quality induction program that supports the development of a teacher’s aptitude from the start of their career, with a view to improving learner outcomes and ensure longevity in the profession.

These wellbeing theories of practice underpin Program Amplify

  • Collaborative Proactive Solutions, the work of Dr Ross Greene, is a recognised as an empirically supported, evidence-based approach used to understand and respond to challenging behaviour in students
  • Restorative Practice (grounded on work by Adam Voight) is a whole-school teaching and learning approach that builds community and belonging through the establishment of caring relationships among students and between students and teachers. Restorative justice seeks to repair harm, re-build relationships and re-establish trust when conflict arises
  • The Neurosequential Model of Education (NME) has been developed by Dr Bruce Perry M.D., Ph.D. The goals of NME are to educate staff and students in basic concepts of neurosequential development and then teach them how to apply this knowledge to the teaching and learning process
  • Applied Positive Psychology is the scientific study of wellbeing. It is grounded in the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within them and others, and to enhance their work, school, and life experiences.

Cost: AISACT has the financial capacity to offer this opportunity to Members at a greatly reduced cost of only $120 (GST inclusive) per participant.
